Formula is one of the vehicles available in the game Hill Climb Racing 2.

Overview[ | ]

The Formula is one of the fastest vehicles in the game, going up to 26.9 m/s (97 km/h), and also sports great downforce. Being a vehicle with a low ground clearance, it works best with relatively flat surfaces. The Formula is better in Cups and Time Trials, as it has a low Fuel capacity of 30 seconds. The Suspension can be altered from really bouncy to really tight. The Tuning Part Landing Boost does really well, especially when the Suspension is at a low level. When suspension is at max level, the Formula's Center of Mass becomes very light, but since the damping is high, the Jump Shocks will be relatively weak, since the power of Jump Shocks is based on the vehicle's suspension level.

The Formula's high speed is attributed to its front and rear spoilers, which give tremendous downforce to keep the car on the ground. However, its downforce may work against the player, as the vehicle is not able to "glide" in the air unless significantly lowered. Due to the quick falling in the air, some parts may be broken if landing too hard. Without downforce, the vehicle has its speed reduced to 24.8 m/s (89 km/h), and bounces a lot more, which greatly weakens its already low grip. Due to the Formula's weak grip, it's not very good to use in Adventure and on snowy surfaces. The Winter Tires Tuning Part can help mitigate the issue. The Formula's acceleration from standstill is average, though this can be improved with the Start Boost Tuning Part. Other speed-related Tuning Parts such as the Landing Boost, Overcharged Turbo and Fuel Boost work well with the Formula, as it is focused on speed rather than stunts, like flips, air time, and wheelies. Contrary to this, dipping the car/performing front flips can reduce downforce, which can be seen a lot in Time Trials.

As for the Kangaroo setup, the Landing Boost carries the vehicle really far in all game modes. The Jump Shocks will increase the power of the boost, allowing the Wings to activate and carry the vehicle forward over big pits. This is what makes the Formula usable in Adventure, although still not advisable. It is used a lot in time trials for fast times, however, the Wings are most often replaced with Start Boost.

Previously, players had to be careful while descending at tremendous speeds (especially while using the Green paint), as it could cause a bug where the driver's head would end up stuck within the car's body, sometimes "crashing" with a hard landing because the character's head would hit the ground and cause a "Driver Down". This has since been fixed.

Note: You can detach the front and rear spoilers of the formula. This can be useful in Adventure mode or multi jump as it improves the flying time of the vehicle. It can also be used in wheelie tracks if Suspension and Downforce are tuned down to 1.

Overpowered Downforce Mechanic[ | ]

Back in the early days of the Formula, there used to be a glitch which allowed the Formula to "fly".

When Formula was released in 2017, the vehicle included a Downforce mechanic very much unlike Sports Car. Since it has spoilers, the downforce was meant to push the vehicle in the direction it was facing. Since it was so powerful, it literally caused the vehicle to go up and not down! However, it wasn't until the Tuning Parts update that players discovered this. People were abusing the power of the downforce to execute great stunts and get huge amounts of airtime. This glitch also allowed players to get a lot great Time Trial records, since they could go into the sky instead of following the track, even without using fuel. This glitch dominated City and Racetrack maps for 8 months until the glitch got patched in late 2017. It would've been insane if it still worked, although it wouldn't be compatible with most modern techniques.

Unlockables[ | ]

See Vehicle Paints List for pictures and more information.

The Formula is one of only 2 vehicles in the game (the second being Supercar with its Christmas paint) where the legendary paints will change the game performance. We mean the spoiler change upon selecting some legendary paints. The smaller type spoiler on legendary paints is much more difficult to break when landing. The center-of-mass also seems to be shifted as a result.

The Formula comes with 8 paints and 13 different wheels that can be obtained (Excluding the VIP paint and wheel, which come with the VIP subscription). After purchasing, it has free orange and blue paints and a wheel customization to start with.

Trivia[ | ]

  • The Formula's design is presumably based on 1970s' Formula One cars and a little McLaren M7A.
  • Formula 1 engines can be 3 times louder than an entire stadium full of people! Make sure to bring earplugs!
  • Formula's engine sound like a vacuum cleaner.
  • When you select Formula's Green Sport or VIP paints,Formula will change 2000's Formula 1 cars.
