Distanceheader

Adventure mode is the “Old School” Hill Climb Racing mode. Here you can test your skills with your favourite vehicles and see how far you can go without getting a driver down or running out of fuel. Do you have what it takes to earn a place on the leaderboards? Play with the best players in the world!

Fuel[ | ]

End

In adventure mode, fuel (and battery, since update 1.46.0) management plays a key role in how far you can drive.

As you drive, your fuel gauge will slowly run out. All vehicles have different sized fuel tanks/batteries. See Fuel for more info.

When you run out of fuel, you will roll to a stop and it's game over - but you can extend your run by collecting fuel tanks/batteries to refill your fuel along the way. You won't get a game over unless your vehicle's speed comes to a halt for even a second. So, you can also extend the run by using Wheelie Boost, Overcharged Turbo (only on Snowmobile), Coin Boost, or the kangaroo setup.

As you progress through the adventure maps, the fuel tanks get further away. If you have the "Magnet" tuning part equipped, you can collect fuel tanks without driving through their path.

Note: Equipping the Afterburner tuning part will triple the fuel consumption of the vehicle during acceleration. Also, equipping the Thrusters tuning part will increase the fuel consumption during activation.

Coins[ | ]

Coins

You can collect coins during your adventure run that will allow you to purchase additional vehicles, adventures, upgrades and other goodies.

There are also Three Types of special bags of coins you gain when you reach a distance milestone:

1) "Overall Best Distance" (OBD) bags:

The first time you drive on any map, no matter what vehicle you use, you collect OBD bags along your route, at 200m to 250m intervals. These OBD bags can only be gained once per map, so the only way to continue getting them is to beat your old alltime records. Metrics: The first OBD bag (~200m from the start) gives you 1,000 coins, then subsequent bags contain an incremental amount of 50 coins, i.e. 1,050 coins at ~400m, 1,100 coins at ~600m, etc. The reward is capped at 3,000 coins (≈8500m) per OBD bag.

2) "Vehicle-specific" (VS) bags (since V.1.23):

The second or first time you play a map, with any vehicle, you collect VS bags, at 200 to 250m intervals. These VS bags can only be gained once per map/vehicle combination. Once you have played 1 adventure map with all vehicles, the only way to continue to get VS bags is to beat your old vehicle-specific records. Metrics: the first VS bag (~200m from the start) gives you 100 coins, then subsequent bags contain an incremental amount of 10 coins, i.e. 110 coins at ~400m, 120 coins at ~600m, etc. The reward is capped at 300 coins per VS bag.

Remark: The first time you play a map, you will not be able to collect both OBD and VS bags at the same time. The order is 1-OBD bags; 2-VS bags.

Example: You play Countryside with Tank. In the past, you set your personal best to 6,000m, meaning you already collected OBD bags up to 6,000m. Now, you'll collect Tank-specific bags till 6,000m. From 6,000m onwards, you will collect OBD bags instead (The VS bags collection will stop). Next time you pass 6,000m with Tank, you will get the VS bags you "missed" the first time, until you reach your personal best.

3) Gloomvale System OBD And VS Bags:[ | ]

The adventure map "Gloomvale" has a different distance bag system than the other maps. This map's OBD bags start at 500 coins and add an additional 25 coins for every next bag. VS bags in this map start at 70 coins and add an additional 7 coins for every next bag.

Gloomvale has 7 different maps (One map per day), so you will need to know that the bags are set for every different map.

Example: You got 1000m on the Tuesday Gloomvale map. You would have collected all the OBD bags up to that point, and potentially the VS bags. The Wednesday map will have the OBD and VS bags on it for you to collect, since the map is different. You can do this on all maps until you have played every map twice or more with every vehicle.

Double Coins[ | ]

Additionally, with the 1.36 Update, you can double all coins you collect in 1 try on an adventure map before starting. For doubling the coins you either need to watch an ad or you can skip with the VIP Subscription. Remember that all ads/VIP skips are limited uses per day. Only use 2x if you are planning on getting far and collecting the coins. After you finish the run, your gained coins will be shown with a "2x" icon, which confirms that your coins have been doubled. The Double coins does not double the stunts' coins, but only the collected coins.

Adventure Tasks[ | ]

Every day, you will see a blue chest icon (Toolbox event closed) pop up on a randomly selected adventure map in the top of the "Adventure" screen, next to the Adventure Rank. These are adventure tasks - optional challenges that reward you with a bonus levelled chest. This chest’s contents will become progressively better as you reach further distance milestones.

The Adventure task will either not have a specific vehicle chosen or show a particular vehicle. No vehicle shown indicates that you can use a vehicle of your choosing. If it shown with a specific vehicle, you must use that vehicle to gain the reward chest (Example: If the icon says Chopper, you must use Chopper). If you do not own that vehicle, or do not want to use it, press the reset (Icon-retry) button in the corner of the adventure map. The Reset button appears once a day. Tap that and the task will be deleted & a new one will be assigned in its place.

The Chest level is increased 1 level per 500 meter increment. The higher the chest, the better the rewards. For the hard maps, (Forest Trials, Intense City and Raging Winter) the chest increases 1 level per 100 meters.

Note: If you restart after levelling up your chest, it will stay that level until you reach the level 1 distance mark. If you game over before getting a level 1 chest, you can press "Retry" and you will have another opportunity to try for it again. If you press "Next," you will lose the task with no rewards. If you encounter this on a special map (requires ticket), you cannot retry the task if you mess up.

Adventure Trove[ | ]

Each month, you can find new Keys in certain Adventure Maps to unlock the reward, Adventure Troves. There are 3 different types of Keys, 1-Keys (Key-1), 3-Keys (Key-3), and 7-Keys (Key-7). New keys are available each time a new season begins, at the start of the month. There are 40 new Keys each season, placed in 5 different Adventure Maps, which all have 8 keys each. In each map, there are 5 of 1-Keys, 2 of 3-Keys and 1 of 7-Key, which add up to 90. All Keys are placed under 7500m.

The Adventure Trove can be unlocked up to 9 times in a single season (each time you gather 10 Keys). The trove includes better rewards with each new level, and you can choose whether you want to open them immediately or save them for later. Additionally, you can choose from 3 vehicle options in each level. When you choose a vehicle, all of the tuning parts from that Adventure Trove will be the parts for the vehicle that you chose, but vehicle customizations won't necessarily be for that vehicle as well. The chests equivalent to each level of Adventure Troves can be seen in the table below.

Levels 3, 4 & 5 Rare Chest

Note: Probabilities for Customizations and the amount of coins may differ from that of the "Equivalent Chests".

Adventure Tokens[ | ]

Update 1.54.0 introduced Adventure Tokens; A new currency used to buy Adventure Maps. (This replaced the old 'Stars to Unlock' system, which means that you can unlock any map at any rank.) To accumulate tokens, you need to play Adventure mode and unlock Adventure Chests for these tokens. Below is the algorithm for the tokens gained per level:

For every 1 level of adventure chest (500m or 100m), 2 tokens will be added to the chest. So at level 2, It's 4 tokens; at 10, it's 20; 50, it's 100, and so on. Note: If you watch a video (Or have VIP), you can double the amount of tokens you get in your chest.

Once you have unlocked every adventure map, these tokens will not be usable anymore, and you will no longer get them from chests until a new map is added in a future update. Note: You can still get them from Featured Challenges, although in very small amounts.

Adventure Ranks[ | ]

Since the Update 1.37.0, there have been Adventurer Levels. You will travel from Wanderer Scout to Canyoneer. You can increase your rank by driving with different Vehicles on the different adventure maps to collect Stars (Icon-star). For the normal tracks you can gain up to 10,000 Stars with each vehicle, which is equal to 10,000m, meaning you gain 1 Star per meter. For the hard adventure maps you can gain stars up until 5,000m, but the "special" thing there is that 1 meter gives you 3 stars, so the maximum amount of stars you can gain for each vehicle is 15,000 stars. However, those maps are very hard to play through. Sky Rock Outpost's star collection works like the normal adventure maps.

You can see your adventurer level in the "Adventure" tab at the top of your screen, next to the Adventure tasks or randomly selected map.

Since the 1.54 update (Released on Dec. 12, 2022), the adventure system was slightly changed, and now instead of unlocking adventure maps and hats when reaching a certain rank, you will now unlock coins and chests. More information below.

Below is a list of the ranks, how many stars you need and what you gain by reaching.

As of Update 1.58.0, the max amount of Stars theoretically obtainable is 5,905,000. Which would be 5,000 stars above Canyoneer 98.
